From Aswan to Luxor by cruise

To go from Aswan to Luxor our choice was by cruise. First of all, I do not understand why it’s called cruise, because is more like a big Ferry with swimming pool and one restaurant, so the name can bring false expectations. How did we find a cruise? we contact many people and try to...

We started the day in Luxor around 8:00 am meeting our guide in the cruise. The plan was Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple, the Colossi of Memnon and Karnak Temple complex, quite intense day. We crossed to the West Bank of the Nile by car and arrived to the Valley of the...

Helsinki: not the boring and grey city I expected

Sometimes I have wrong ideas about cities I have never visited. In my mind Helsinki was a small, serious, boring and grey city. While I was visiting I realized Helsinki is not grey at all, in fact it has a pretty diverse architecture. It is also a very alive city with good...

Lekeitio: a magic fishing village

When we planned our trip around the Basque Country (Euskadi) Lekeitio was on our must list. We went to this town from San Sebastián by car. The landscape was wonderful, so green, but the roads are not the best ones and too many turns. Even so...

Udaipur: City of Lakes

Udaipur, the City of Lakes, was a big surprise in my trip around India. Finally a peaceful city and cleaner than the other cities I have been. India is really noisy and Udaipur is calm, with less traffic in the centre and not so many animals...

Rabat: a city with a lot of history

Rabat is the capital city of Morocco and my first stop in this country. 1 or 2 days are enough to experience the city. Full of people during the day and with many colours and scents, the Medina is the most vibrant part of the city and a 5...

ABOUT ME

My name is Beatriz. I am a visually impaired woman who travels around the world. Some years ago I went to Russia with some friends and I realized I couldn’t follow them, my vision or my lack of vision didn’t allow me. I felt really sad. I also realized I need a cane during the night. I had some hard months but here I am! 2 years later I achieved a dream, to see the Taj Mahal. I have been into 11 countries recently, I sometimes travel alone, I feel confident during the night with my blind cane and I feel happy. I want to see the world but I am losing my sight due to Retinitis Pigmentosa so it is now or never, I choose now. Although I travel now, I believe I will find a way to enjoy trips in the future with little or non-sight. If I believe I can, I CAN!
